New world order: China claims ‘I, not the US, am the true world leader’

US President Donald Trump has shoved the world into chaos, especially creating problems for his allies and friends. Now, he is turning against European countries over the takeover of Greenland and has issued threats to nations with tariffs, which oppose his moves.

China emerges as alternative

However, the European nations have pledged not to bow before Trump. Amid all these developments, China has declared itself as an alternative superpower, and the US’ allies are also inching closer to China by expressing willingness to work with the dragon.

‘China stands for unity over confrontation’

After hours of Trump’s threats, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said that China is continuously working on the concept of a community with a shared future and supports multilateralism and free trade. He said, “We encourage agreement, unity, and cooperation instead of division and confrontation. We are providing solutions to the world.”

Lifeng’s remarks position China as a calm and trusted ally in contrast to Trump’s threatening and bullying policies.

Xi challenges US dominance

Chinese President Xi Jinping has already spoken about changing the world order, stating that the United States and its allies have wrongly imposed themselves on other countries. China is projecting itself as an alternative, despite allegations by neighboring countries regarding its border expansion policies.

However, experts believe that China does not need to make much effort and can maintain momentum, as US allies have already begun losing trust in Trump.

Carney calls US-led system ‘partly false’

China’s growing influence can be seen after Canadian PM Mark Carney visited Beijing and made remarks openly against the United States. He called “American dominance” part of a fictitious “international rules-based order.” He said, “We knew that the story of the international rules-based order was partly false — that the most powerful countries would exempt themselves when convenient, and that trade rules would be applied unevenly.”
