Ketan Aggarwal murder case: More bad news for Siya Goyal and family as govt takes big step, decides to…

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has sealed a spice shop owned by the family of Siya Goyal, one of the accused in the murder case of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal. The action was taken after officials found alleged violations of food safety regulations during an inspection.

According to officials, food products worth around Rs 8 lakh were seized from the premises.

Samples Sent for Laboratory Testing

The inspection was carried out at M/s BG Goyal and Company, located in Pune’s Market Yard area. During the visit, FDA officials collected samples of turmeric powder, sesame seeds and soybean chunks for laboratory analysis.

Officials said around 4000 kilograms of food stock, valued at approximately Rs 8.14 lakh, was seized after they allegedly found irregularities in product labelling and preliminary signs of possible adulteration. The seized samples have now been sent to a laboratory for detailed testing.

Business Ordered to Remain Closed

The FDA has issued a notice directing the firm to suspend all business operations until further orders. Officials said the action was taken due to alleged non-compliance with mandatory statutory requirements and the failure to make necessary amendments to the business licence.

“Considering the violations, a notice has been issued directing the firm to stop its business activities until further orders,” an official said. The FDA added that further legal action will depend on the findings of the laboratory reports.

Siya Goyal in Judicial Custody

Siya Goyal, 20, is currently in jail in connection with the murder of her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal. Her boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, 22, has also been arrested in the case.

Police allege that the two pushed Ketan off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district during a trekking trip on June 18, resulting in his death.

Murder Probe Continues

Ketan Agarwal’s death was initially treated as an accident. However, investigators later claimed that the incident was part of a planned murder. As part of the ongoing investigation, police have examined the alleged relationship between the two accused and collected digital evidence. Investigators have also alleged that the accused planned the crime before carrying it out.

The murder investigation remains ongoing, while the FDA awaits laboratory test results before deciding on further action against the spice business.
