Actor Arshad Warsi is all set to headline the upcoming dark comedy Jeevan Bheema Yojana, featuring his first-ever double role on the big screen. The makers have officially locked September 4, 2026, as the worldwide theatrical release date, pushing it back slightly from its previously announced August 28 schedule as the film enters the final leg of its promotional campaign. A fresh poster confirming the September release has also been unveiled.

Directed by Abhishek Dogra, the film stars Arshad Warsi in contrasting dual roles alongside Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Pooja Chopra, Bijendra Kala, and the late Atul Parchure in pivotal roles.

Jeevan Bheema Yojana storyline

The story centers on Jeevan, a debt-ridden common man whose life takes a drastic turn after encountering his dangerous lookalike, Bheema. What begins as a potential opportunity quickly spirals into a chaotic chain of events, entangling the characters in a web of deceit, greed, and high-stakes choices.

Sanjeeda Shaikh essays the role of Yojana, Jeevan’s sharp and resourceful wife, while Vijay Raaz portrays the enigmatic character Vinayak.

Director speaks on dark comedy concept

Commenting on the film’s core theme, director Abhishek Dogra shared, “Jeevan Bheema Yojana is a film about ordinary people making one extraordinary, catastrophic decision and then spending the rest of the film paying for it. The genre is dark comedy, but the heart of it is very human. Arshad brings both men to life with a precision that constantly surprised us on set.”

The project marks a significant career milestone for Arshad Warsi, allowing him to showcase his versatility by playing two distinctly contrasting individuals in a single narrative.

Blending dark humor, suspense, and crime, Jeevan Bheema Yojana is scheduled to hit theaters globally on September 4, 2026.
