The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  announced a fresh round of organisational changes, appointing new state unit presidents in four key regions, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Tripura. The move is being seen as part of the party’s larger strategy to strengthen its leadership ahead of upcoming elections.

Union Minister of State and MP Harsh Malhotra has been appointed as the new BJP president for Delhi. In Haryana, Archana Gupta will take charge as the state unit chief. For Tripura, the party has named Abhishek Debroy as the new president, while Kewal Singh Dillon has been given responsibility to lead the BJP in Punjab ahead of the Assembly elections.

The appointments were made under the leadership of BJP national president Nitin Nabin. The official announcements were issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh through separate notifications.

“All these appointments come into immediate effect,” Arun Singh said in the statement.

What is BJP planning with this reshuffle?

The latest changes indicate the beginning of a broader organisational overhaul within the BJP. The party is expected to announce more appointments at both state and national levels in the coming weeks as it looks to refresh its leadership structure.

Why are these appointments important now?

The reshuffle comes at a crucial time when the BJP is preparing for key upcoming elections, especially in states like Punjab. By appointing new leaders, the party aims to strengthen its ground-level presence and improve coordination between central leadership and state units.

Will more changes follow in BJP leadership?

According to reports, this is just the first phase of a larger restructuring exercise. More changes in party positions and responsibilities are likely as the BJP focuses on building a stronger organisational network across the country.
