The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received more than 1000 applications for the position of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), according to sources. The appointment is being made as the Trust moves to strengthen its administrative framework following allegations of financial irregularities involving donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The pool of applicants reportedly includes retired government officials, political personalities and professionals from diverse fields. The person selected for the role will be responsible for managing the Trust’s day-to-day operations and administrative affairs.

Selection process to start on July 19

The scrutiny of applications is expected to begin on July 19, while the final appointment is likely to be approved during the Trust’s meeting on July 22, sources said.

The Trust officially invited applications for the CEO position on July 13 and set July 18 as the last date for submitting applications.

A three-member committee has been constituted to oversee the selection process. It comprises retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and Trust member Suresh Haware.

Who can apply?

The Trust has laid down several eligibility conditions for the post. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and be between 50 and 70 years of age.

They should also have at least 20 years of managerial experience in a government department, public institution, large organisation or company. Experience in handling administration, finance, accounts, human resources, public relations, information technology, security and legal matters is also required.

The CEO will be appointed on a three-year contractual term, which may be extended based on performance. The selected candidate will be posted in Ayodhya, while salary and other service benefits will be finalised through mutual agreement.

Preference criteria

The Trust has specified that applicants must be practising Hindus with working knowledge of both Hindi and English. Preference will be given to candidates who have previously served as Chief Administrative Officers or have experience managing temples or Hindu religious institutions. Retired officials who fulfil the eligibility criteria are also eligible to apply.

The notification further states that applicants must be actively practising Hindus, while being a devotee of Lord Ram belonging to the Vaishnava tradition will be considered desirable.
