Debutant filmmaker Shiv Rawail’s spy thriller headlined by female actors – Alpha is all set to arrive on the digital space and fans can’t be happier. After completing its theatrical run upon its release in July, Alpha is all set to make its OTT debut.
Alpha on OTT
Bankrolled by Yash Raj Films (YRF), Alpha happens to be the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe. The franchise began with Ek Tha Tiger and went on to include Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2. It is the first film in the YRF Spy Universe to be headlined by actresses.
Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor also play key roles, while Hrithik Roshan reprises his popular character Kabir from the War films in a special appearance.
As per 123Telugu report, Alpha will be making its OTT premiere on Netflix. It will be streaming from August 28, 2026. According per the report, Alpha will be available in Hindi.
Several social media pages have also shared the news online. However, the streaming giant has not yet officially confirmed the streaming details of Alpha.
Alpha release
The film witnessed multiple release date changes during production. Initially planned for a 2025 release, Alpha was later shifted to April before Yash Raj Films announced July 10 as its release date. The makers have now advanced the release by a week, with the film arriving in cinemas worldwide on July 3, 2026.
Alpha follows a highly trained assassin (Sita Kaul, played by Alia) raised in isolation as a super-soldier by a rogue commander (Indian Army Colonel Fateh Singh Lakhawat played by Bobby Deol). When she discovers the dark truth about her family and her stolen childhood, she teams up with her long lost sister to take down her creator and his illicit military program.
Sharvari plays Durga Kaul, Sita’s estranged fraternal twin sister.
